Anyone Aloud is a 50 strong mixed voice choir with an age range of 18 through to 85!
Anyone Aloud that started out as The Winsford Education Partnership Staff Choir and Friends was established by Miss Nicola Howbrigg in January 2009, for anybody who worked in education and fancied becoming part of a regular, fun singing group. Members included teachers, teaching assistants, school receptionists, school bursars, caretakers and governors.
The group came together once a week for cake, tea and singing where time was also given to members for networking and meeting colleagues from other schools.
In July 2018, the choir went through a number of changes which included changing its name to ‘Anyone Aloud’. The name says it all! The choir now welcomes anybody (over the age of 18), from all walks of life. Current members include police workers, vicars, teachers, retirees – all of which love to learn to sing in a safe, fun and engaging learning environment where laughing, singing, eating cake together and making friends are important factors!
This 50 strong SAB choir sings a repertoire ranging from musical theatre to pop though to light classical and comedy – anything goes!
We are accompanied by the highly talented musician Mrs. Sally Ross, who works alongside Nicola to challenge and push our potential whilst making sure that we have fun and engage in non-stop laughter at the same time!
Anyone Aloud rehearses term-time only on Thursday afternoons from 4.30pm until 6pm at Oaklands School in Winsford and always welcomes new members.
